I am a UK-based clinician, educator and author on classical acupuncture and Chinese medicine with diverse other interests including science, cognition and PR. As a med school physiologist in the 1970’s fate led me to explore the neurobiology research into acupuncture’s mechanisms, this triggered a career shift and I began formal Classical acupuncture and CHM study in 1981. A decade later joined the faculty at a lead UK TCM college and worked variously as senior lecturer, CHM course director and master’s supervisor. In 2000 I gained my MSc on the scientific investigation of TCM medical models and served on the British Acupuncture Council’s (BAcC) research committee as well as gaining experience as MSc External Examiner for various UK universities. Presenting regularly across the EU for 3 decades, I have published numerous papers on our medicine and have a textbook in print on the historical development of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. I have long been saddened by the resistance our profession has faced and so have been drawn to investigate the dark arts of PR, branding and belief change. In recent years I havecontributed to platforms such as the EBA and ANF.
